Spicy Pasta alla Vokda

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 yellow onion
  • 3-4 cloves of garlic
  • 1/2-1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 28oz crushed tomatoes
  • 1 c vodka
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 c chicken stock
  • 3 c water
  • 1 lb cavatappi (or other pasta)
  • 1/4 c heavy cream
  • burrata and basil for serving
Directions
  • Saute olive oil, onion, garlic and red pepper flakes in dutch oven
  • Add crushed tomatoes, vodka and salt; stir
  • Add chicken stock, water, and pasta; bring to a boil
  • Add heavy cream and cook for seven minutes or until noodles are tender
  • Serve with burrata and basil
